A couple of weeks ago, we were lucky enough to vend the PACNWRS show locally. Many friends, old and new were there. Tony Lanzi, a fellow colubrid breeder and locality aficionado raised in SoCal, now residing in my state, happened to be set up there as well. I walked over quickly to see what he had as he was putting things out and two snakes over everything caught my eye. I took mental note and moved on with the tussle of the moments before the show doors open. Later the first day, I stopped by again and those two snakes were sitting there, staring at me. I asked him a couple of questions about them, their locality, and everything seemed on the up and up for maybe a possible purchase at end of the show. I do that to myself to let the universe tell me "it was meant to be" if they sell before the end or if they come home with me. Then Tony pointed out they were his favorites and even were marked with big green Fs on their deli cups for that reason. Well then, if they were my faves AND ended up being his faves too then certainly it is meant to be. So I bought them immediately instead of waiting any longer. Zero haggling. They were at a great price for great snakes. No need.
And here they are! Just stunning specimens! Special thanks to Tony for letting me add them to my collection of CA locality gophers.
I truly can't wait to watch these two grow up.
